US/H. Aston 1842 
percussion pistol
This is an excellent 1842 model US/H. Aston percussion pistol stamped "MIDDtn/CONN 1849".  It's extremely tight with a crisp action.  Numerous military cartouches are impressed in the stock and the 8 1/2" barrel is proof stamped "US/J11" with what looks like an anchor.
This is the finest of it's kind I've ever seen.

Excellent, crisp mechanism, extensively engraved and complete with a finely checkered stock. Unfortunately, someone has done some cleaning on this piece. However, it hasn't been buffed and all the edges are sharp.
